Introducing 'Skip Tracer'
After going a little Sonic Youth crazy this week, I discovered there wasn’t already a fuck yeah sonic youth page.
Well, now there is. Say hello to Skip Tracer, and feel free to tell all your friends about the soon-to-be-awesome Sonic blog you just now learned is up and running.
That should at least calm the Sonic-y things that have been taking over my space here a little bit, and anyone who’s completely into them can go there from here on out. Cool? Cool.
It's midnight, and I'm still at work.
Since I’m the last human being in the building…
- I’ve plugged my iPod into the computer speakers. Hello, SY.
- I’m on my third can of A&W root beer.
- I’m occasionally yelling “FUCK YOU” at the screen.
That all seems reasonable, right?

I cannot overstate how much I hate Jimmy Fallon. I think he’s the douche to end all douches. He is the unmatched king, a master in the art of douchbaggery who will not be toppled.
However, this is so funny I don’t know what to do with myself. He’s perfect. I felt like I was watching the Massy Hall DVD. I can’t believe it.
Damn it.
Brilliant and awful, all at once. I need to buy these guys a beer.

I’m still trying to come down from two nights of SY bliss.
“To be Nickelback’s second guitarist and pretending you really believe it. I see Chad Kroeger was the last guy who got interviewed for this page, what a total penis sausage that guy is.”

Epic.
Sonic Youth effectively blew my mind last night. If it weren’t already obvious, The Eternal is a much better record than Rather Ripped (which I actually like), it became so last night. Just brutal, beautiful noise. “Death Valley ‘69” to cap the night was nothing short of incredible. And, since I’m working late tomorrow instead of early, I got up this morning and bought a ticket for tonight’s show with the Meat Puppets. Going solo. I can’t wait.
Last night’s setlist:
No Way

Calming the Snake

Sonic Youth - “Pacific Coast Highway,” live from the Avalon, Boston, Mass., Aug. 14, 2004
I’m going to see Sonik-Youth tonight, so I thought I’d share a track from the first time I had the eternal pleasure of watching them in action, on their Sonic Nurse tour. I still think it’s my favorite show I’ve ever seen. It’s hung with me the longest, and this recording (while awesome) can’t capture how brutal and pummeling it felt to be in the club at that time.
Yes, I recommend that you go see them whenever/where ever you can.
